Course Overview

The University of Limerick is committed to the Performance and Development Review System (PDRS) to ensure the alignment of team and individual objectives with the University's strategic priorities. The overall focus of the system is on improving performance and enhancing professional/career development.

This deadline for completion of this years PDR is 31st October 2022.

Course Objectives/Outcomes

It is important that colleagues get time to work with their managers to review last year’s goals, plan for the coming year (in the context of University and career goals), discuss opportunities and challenges, as well as their career and professional development goals.  This programme will explore how to maximise the impact of the PDR discussion.

This programme will help you to plan for your team’s PDR, including how to best set goals and document key deliverables for the year, as well as how to review and help your team members with their goal setting. It will help participants work with their team members on their learning and development plans and provide input on how the competencies can be used in both goal setting and in helping focus on development needs. It will help managers preparing for the constructive review meetings, focusing on conversations to build engagement, development, and results.  It will help managers to plan for and document the performance narratives (for themselves and their team members) as part of this process.
