Course Overview

In this programme you will learn how to hold a difficult conversation in a way that facilitates a healthy and engaged two way dialogue.   Topics include the inclusion of each other’s internal stories to allow a new story to emerge; getting to the underlying concerns, issues and interests; the role of emotions; and the skills of actively listening and asking questions that minimise the risk of defensive responses.  This is with the aim of coming to an agreement and resolution.   The programme is practical and participants are asked to prepare in advance two real difficult conversation scenarios that they have faced or will face.
