mRING (Multiphase Reactors and Intensification Group) is focused on developing fundamental understanding of complex mass, momentum and energy interactions underpinning manufacturing and application processes of chemicals and materials, energy & water sectors.

We use this understanding to conceive better (safer, cleaner, smaller and cheaper) transformation processes based on modular and intensified devices.

We are developing novel and adaptable fluidic devices based on computational flow modelling and machine learning for realising customisable products and table top manufacturing. The devices and models are also being used for developing distributed waste water treatment solutions and for valorising waste biomass.

The group is led by Professor Vivek V. Ranade. Vivek Ranade is a Bernal Chair Professor of Process Engineering at Bernal Institute, University of Limerick, Ireland.
