Chinmay is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Multiphase Reactor and Intensification Group (mRING) at Bernal Institute, University of Limerick, Ireland. He completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. Chinmay completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from AISSMS College of Engineering, the University of Pune in 2012. He later qualified GATE exam and joined CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory for his doctoral research under the supervision of Dr. Amol Kulkarni and Prof. Vivek Ranade (co-guide). His Ph.D. thesis topic was “Process Intensification of Multistep Synthesis Involving Diazonium Salts”. His research interest includes process intensification, flow chemistry, reactor engineering & design, continuous multistep synthesis, modeling & simulation, process development, and scale-up.

Prior to joining the University of Limerick, he worked as a Scientist at Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences, Hyderabad, India for 1.2 years where he worked in a cross-functional team and developed various continuous processes for APIs and nutraceuticals. Apart from his research, he has trained many chemists, engineers, and scientists from various industries in Continuous Flow Synthesis/Flow Chemistry. His current research focuses on developing Table-Top Manufacturing of Tailored Silica for Personalised Medicine. This work involves material synthesis, process engineering, process intensification, population balance modeling, and CFD simulations.
