Past Events

Why NOW is a great time to study a language
We were delighted to offer all prospective students particularly 6th year/mature/QQI students the opportunity to hear course directors, lecturers and current students explain the opportunities and supports available to UL students who choose to study languages. Attendees were shown that the study of a language (or multiple languages) offers countless opportunities. There was also a chance to ask questions.

This event is now over however you can request a link to a copy of the recording here

LM002 Bachelor of Arts Taster
We were delighted to offer 6th year/mature/QQI students the opportunity to sit in on virtual classes available on LM002 Bachelor of Arts giving them a chance to sample various subject areas and get an idea of what might interest them.

This event will also take place next semester. Guidance counsellors/Prospective Students can pre-register for autumn 2021 here

AHSS TY Taster Day
Our TY Taster held each semester is a chance for transition year students to sample virtual lectures from the degree programmes within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, meet current students and ask questions. It's a great way to explore possible areas of interest by dipping in and out of talks.

Students will have the opportunity to sit in on virtual lectures and interact with two live Q&A sessions on the day. Groups can attend either in the morning of afternoon. The event is largely self-guided but we recommend setting aside at least 1 hour to sample the content. Guidance counsellors/TY Co-ordinators/Individual Students can pre-register for Autumn 2021 here

UL Journalism Taster
This event is now over however we would be happy to forward a link to the recording. This would be of interest to 6th Year/Mature/QQI students interested in LM039 BA Journalism & Digital Communication. During this event, attendees heard from lecturers & students, learned about subject areas, career opportunities and facilities for UL’s journalism students. Guidance counsellors/TY Co-ordinators/Individual Students can fill in our form here to be sent a copy of the recording.

Virtual School Visits
Note that the Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences also offers virtual school talks on our suite of programmes. If you are a guidance counsellor/teacher interested in booking a talk, please fill in this form to register.

Student Blog
