Those who attend will have the opportunity to sample taster lectures, explore the structure of the programme and learn why our students and graduates benefit from studying a broad arts degree. Attendees can also ask questions in a live Q&A session with current students and support staff. AHSS TY Taster Day (Virtual Event) - Tuesday 7th December
Our TY Taster held each semester is a chance for transition year students to sample virtual lectures from the degree programmes within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, meet current students and ask questions. It's a great way to explore possible areas of interest by dipping in and out of talks.
Students will have the opportunity to sit in on virtual lectures and interact with two live Q&A sessions on the day. Groups can attend either in the morning of afternoon. The event is largely self-guided but we recommend setting aside 1-2 hours to sample the content.

Everything You Need to Know About the Study of Languages (Virtual Event) - 6pm, Monday 11th October 2021
This event is now over however we can forward a recording to those who complete the form below.
Our webinar was aimed at those who have a passion for other cultures and are interested in the study of a language or multiple languages at third level. During the course of this one-hour webinar, current students described their experience of studying languages. Attendees also heard from lecturers and course directors who outlined course structure, careers and why now is a great time to choose to study a language focusing on LM044 BA Applied Languages, LM091 Bachelor of Education in Languages & LM040 BA European Studies but information will be relevant to the study of languages on all UL undergraduate programmes.
Students can also read blogs by current UL AHSS students, outlining their own experiences of what it's like to live and study in UL. Our students talk about everything from choosing UL to making friends to their study abroad experiences.
