Wednesday, 7 February 2024

On 1st February, over 80 transition year students participated in the Japan Quiz Night 2024. The event was streamed via Zoom as it was concurrently held at five different location across the country, including the University of Limerick. UL hosted 20 students from Coláiste Muire (Ennis). The event was inaugurated by HE Ambassador Maruyama and was hosted by Dr Erika Marcet, Head of the Japanese Section (MLAL).

During the event, students partook in a quiz via Kahoot about Japanese language and culture, and the best five teams received wonderful Japan-related prizes. The quiz was followed by a reception, where the TY students got to eat Japanese food from a local restaurant. This event was co-organised by the Japanese Section at the School of Modern Languages & Applied Linguistics and the Post-Primary Languages Ireland (PPLI). The event was funded by PPLI, the Japan Foundation and the Embassy of Japan.
