ConSIMium is a European Council simulation experience in which 27 teams of students from all EU member states experience first-hand the negotiations between member states and the decision-making process at European level.

The first edition of ConSIMium will be held in Brussels on 2-3 February 2023.

A total of 162 students (6 per member state) and 27 national coordinators have been selected at national level on the basis of agreed principles and criteria.

Ireland will be represented by six UL students in the final year of their BA European Studies and Applied Languages degrees. The six students are: Sarah Doyle, Thomas Gibbons, Pádraig McCarthy, Niamh McLoughlin, Sarah Nunan and Kristina O’Brien. They will be accompanied by the national coordinator, Prof. Joachim Fischer, Jean Monnet Chair in European Cultural Studies, UL.
