Prof Jennifer Schweppe participated in the 3rd meeting of Council of Europe Committee of Experts on Hate Crime in Strasbourg 30-31 March, where she is tasked by the Committee with preparing the draft Recommendation and Explanatory Memorandum for review and deliberation. The PC/ADI-CH is a subordinate committee to the European Committee on Crime Problems (CDPC) and to the Steering Committee on Anti-Discrimination, Diversity and Inclusion (CDADI). It is composed of national experts nominated by their respective governments, as well as four independent experts and representatives from international organisations and civil society, of which Prof Schweppe is one. The next meeting of the Committee is planned to take place in early October 2023, during which the draft Recommendation will be finalised prior to submission to the CDPC and CDADI at their respective plenary meetings in November and December 2023.
