Irish World Academy Stepping Stones Scholarship recipients performed at the unveiling ceremony of the Feeney Way in the Glucksman Library, with contributers including President Kerstin Mey, Mayor of Limerick Cllr Francis Foley, elected representatives, Chuck Feeney’s son Patrick and Conor O’Clery his biographer, members of Governing Authority, Founding President Dr Ed Walsh, and Harry Feehily, Chair of University of Limerick Foundation. Professor Helen Phelan, Director of the Irish World Academy, spoke to the importance of the scholarships and the historical support of Chuck Feeney and the Atlantic Philanthropists. For the last fifteen years, students from around the world have been supported by the Stepping Stones Scholarships to pursue postgraduate study at the Irish World Academy and over a hundred students from forty countries across every continent have benefitted from this scholarship. The students that performed were Núria Vizcaino Estrada, a cellist from on the MA Classical String programme, Rima Baransi a student of the MA Contemporary Dance programme, and Sarbik Guha a student of the MA Songwriting programme.
