Dr Karol Mullaney-Dignam, Department of History, and PhD student Rachel Beck, attended the sixth International Public History Conference and Summer School at the University of Wrocław, Poland in June. The opening keynote lecture, titled 'The possibilities and limits of historical thinking in a digital age', was delivered by Prof. Sam Wineburg (Stanford University). Rachel presented a well-received paper on her research on 'Webcomics as Public History' in a panel on visual public history with peers from the Universities of Luxembourg and Paris-Est Crétiel. Her supervisor Karol's participation in an international roundtable and discussions on 'Studying Public History – Methods, Difficulties, Perspectives', was generously supported by the AHSS Faculty.
