 Over 70 secondary-school students from Coláiste Chiaráin, Croom, and Desmond College, Newcastle West, visited campus on Wednesday 28 September as part of an event entitled ‘Everyday Language Learning: The University of Limerick Experience’ organised by Prof Jean Conacher and Katie McAuliffe as part of the IMPULS (Increasing Male Participation and Uptake in Language Studies) project. A range of language & culture awareness activities, including an Escape Room, German HipHop, Spanish Flamenco, Language Portraits and a Big Quiz were facilitated by MLAL colleagues Dr Anita Barmettler, Garazi Beaumont, Marta Fortes, Dr Marta Giralt, Lara Jacobus, Catherine Jeanneau, Alba Perez and Charly Poquereau. Support was also provided by 1st Year PME Languages students and Cillian Foley AHSS Coop student, who acted as event photographer!  The IMPULS project is funded by AHSS EDI and Post Primary Languages Ireland.
