Ciara Breathnach contributes to documentary on RTÉ1

Our colleague, Dr Ciara Breathnach was a contributor to Aistear an Amhráin - Monto, on RTÉ 1 at 7.00pm 26 September. The series explores the social history of 'iconic' Irish songs, and this episode focused on the The Dubliners' bawdy ballad about Dublin's historic and notorious 'red light district'. Breathnach discussed various aspects of her published work on urban poverty, infant mortality and a recent article (with Dr Rachel Murphy doi:10.1017/S096392682300010X ) on sex work in Dublin in the early twentieth century.
