21 March 2023 (5pm, Millstream Common Room, UL) – Guest Lecture and discussion with John Gormley, chaired by Prof Kerstin Mey, UL President. John Gormley is the former Irish Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and former Leader, Green Party. In his talk he will discuss his personal journey into environmental issues and specifically what role his time in Germany played and links between the German and Irish Green parties. Cord Meier-Klodt (Ambassador of Germany to Ireland), Ulrike Gasser (Director, Goethe-Institut Ireland) and Ralf Lissek (CEO, German-Irish Chamber of Industry & Commerce) in conversation with Derek Scally (The Irish Times), followed by four fascinating videos on Irish-German relations by final year students, competing for the prize of Irish-German Chamber of Industry & Commerce.
