Learn how to apply to undergraduate courses at UL. There are different application routes depending if you're a leaving certificate student applying through the CAO or if you're an EU or Non-EU applicant.

There are certain entry requirements to ensure you meet before making the decision to apply to UL:

• Leaving certificate students
• EU applicants
• A-Level students
• Mature applicants
• Graduate entry into Medicine

Due to the number and calibre of applicants to the University of Limerick, qualified candidates to all undergraduate degree courses are placed in order of merit based on a points system through the CAO. 

If you receive an offer from the CAO, you will be notified by text and email and you'll have to accept your place before the given date. 

You'll start your journey at UL with an orientation day. Orientation helps you find your feet by meeting other students in your course, getting your student card, and a tour of the campus. After orientation, our First Seven Weeks programme begins in Week 1 and offers activities, workshops, and resources to support you.

Most undergraduate courses are 8 semesters (4 years) long. There are exceptions where 5th or 6th years are applicable, such as courses requiring a common entry route or the Bachelor of Medicine. You will find the modules you will study each semester in the relevant course detail page. 

Student exams take place at the end of every semester and the time for each module's exam can be found on the timetable. Exam support is available to all students at our learning centres. 

When it's time to celebrate achieving your degree, we'll provide you with all the information you need - from when to reserve your Graduand robe, to what time and date your ceremony will take place.
