Our research here focuses on work that is characterised by job insecurity, irregular or unpredictable hours, is poorly paid, and with limited benefits, employment protections or possibilities for advancement. Precarious work leaves workers vulnerable to various risks that can be experienced differently across gender, age, race and class and results in varying degrees of inequality within the workplace and society more broadly.
