There are a number of appeals that can be made regarding Academic Registry processes and we endeavour to manage your appeal in a timely manner. However, if you remain unhappy with our response then you can refer a complaint on a number of our processes to the Office of the Ombudsman, detailed below. The Ombudsman is fair, independent, and free to use. The Ombudsman will ask you for details of your complaint and a copy of our final response.
Any Final External Appeal / Complaint Process should only be used once the Internal Appeal Processes have been exhausted.
Please note: The Student Complaints Policy and Procedure, available on the UL Policy Hub, is in place for all non-academic judgements. A ‘Complaint’ is defined as any expression of dissatisfaction with the standard of service provided by UL or with the actions or lack of actions by UL or members of staff. The Student Complaints Policy and Procedures may not be used to challenge academic judgement concerning performance and progress or to appeal against the decision of an Exam Board.
