Mr. Trevor Hickey


Trevor Hickey is a lecturer in teacher education, specifically Architectural Technology Education, at the University of Limerick.

His primary research interest is in the leadership and management in education, specifically how managers lead improvement in teaching and learning. Other research interests include teacher education, construction pedagogy, interdisciplinary pedagogical strategies and health & safety in the education setting.

He is an experienced teacher at second level, with over 15 years experience teaching leaving certificate Construction Studies and 10 years experience working with the State Examinations Commission. He is the author of two leaving certificate textbooks relating to residential construction. He has also developed a range of education resources for the Health & Safety Authority relating to the management of health and safety in
the Technology classroom.

He is a Certified Passivhaus Consultant and has developed a series of educational resources for teaching the Passivhaus Standard in the Irish context.
