Biography

Dr Tim Groenland studied for a BA and later an MA in English at University College Dublin before completing a PhD at Trinity College Dublin. He joined the School of English, Irish, and Communication in 2021 as a Teaching Assistant in American Literature. He teaches undergraduate modules in American Literature, a single-author module on the contemporary US author Colson Whitehead, and MA modules in Advanced Editing.

His book The Art of Editing: Raymond Carver and David Foster Wallace was published in 2019 by Bloomsbury Academic. He has published work on literary editors and publishers in post-45 US fiction in venues including Critique: Studies in Contemporary Fiction, The Canadian Journal of Irish Studies, The Los Angeles Review of Books, and in a number of edited collections. He is Co-Editor of the Irish Journal of American Studies IJAS Online.
