Biography
I am a Lecturer (btb) in Sociology in the School of Allied Health as well as the Department of Nursing and Midwifery. I have seven years teaching experience at UL in the Sociology Department, the Department of Psychology, the School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics, the Department of Politics and Public Administration and the Centre for Teaching and Learning. I have also lectured in KU Leuven (Belgium) and the University of Girona (Spain).My current body of work focuses on engaging with stakeholders across the health and social care sectors to understand and address the challenges in health service provision and delivery. In line with this, my research focuses on chronic illness and inequality, community-based health interventions, public and patient involvement (PPI) in research and the social aspects of ageing. I am currently collaborating with several researchers in both the School of Allied Health and the Department of Nursing and Midwifery on projects related to community-based exercise programmes, physical activity in people with chronic illness and well-being amongst members of marginalised social groups. I also have a keen interest in sociolinguistics.
