Dr. Romina Gaburro


Dr Romina Gaburro obtained her MSc (Italian Laura) in Mathematics from the Università degli Studi di Trieste, Italy and her PhD in Mathematics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK in 2004. Following her PhD, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Università degli Studi di Trieste for one year, followed by a four years Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Senior Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Limerick (UL). She is currently a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UL, where she is also the Director for Postgraduate studies. She is the Research Representative for the Department in the Science and Engineering Faculty Research Committee, the country coordinator for Ireland in the European Women in Mathematics (EWM) organisation and the Irish ambassador for the International Mathematical Union (IMU) Committee for Women in Mathematics (CWM).
