Biography

Ray is a qualified technology teacher who has worked in initial teacher education since 2006. He has been lecturing on pre-service teacher education programme since 2009 and joined the School of Education 2012. His Ph.D. studies looked at student interests and their impact on undergraduate student performance and retention. Ray is currently conducting research into two complimentary areas; first he is looking at how presage variables develop with particular focus on the perceived link between self-efficacy and the crystallisation of interests, and second he is looking at how such variables can help advance teaching and learning strategies.
