Biography

Dr Mary Curtin is an Assistant Professor with the Work and Employment Studies Department of the Kemmy Business School. Mary graduated with a first class honours degree in Law and Accounting in 2019 and a PhD from the University of Limerick in 2023. Mary completed her multidisciplinary PhD with the Kemmy Business School and the School of Law. Her research focus is on the gender asset gap in the agricultural sector. Mary is involved with the delivery of cross institutional career development programmes funded by the HEA Gender Equality Enhancement fund. Mary lectures in Employment relations and Human Resource Management.

  • Matheson Postgraduate Scholar at the Irish Association of Law Teachers Conference 2021.
  • Recipient of the Kemmy Business School/Northern Trust Outstanding Scholar Award.
  • Awarded UL silver medal for graduating top of my class and top of the faculty in 2019.
  • Received a President's letter for every semester of exams in university. These letters commend academic excellence and are awarded because of exceptional results.
  • Mason Hayes & Curran Company Law Prize 2019 - highest grades in final year modules.
  • A and L Goodbody, Solicitors Prize 2016 - for being the UL law student who completed first year with the highest academic grades.
  • Awarded UL scholarship based on top performance in Leaving Certificate 2015.
  • Awarded Student of the Year at Leaving Certificate graduation 2015.
