Biography

Kwok Ng, holds the title of docent (adjunct professor) of health promotion and adapted physical activity and is a postdoctoral researcher, working with Professor Catherine Woods on the Children's Sport Participation and Physical Activity Study and the Active School Flag Post Primary. He completed his PhD from the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. He has over 20 years experience of sports coaching and officiating at various levels, from fundamentals to international levels to recreational for older populations, as well as expertise in working with people with various abilities. With these experiences, Kwok's main responsibility is to dedicate time on research and his main research interests include promoting physical activity among children and adolescents.
Currently, he is a member of the WHO collaborative cross-national Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study and is a chair of the working group on chronic conditions and disabilities and the physical activity focus group. In addition he is the Assistant Editor of the European Journal of Adapted Physical Activity and on the editorial board of Injury Epidemiology and Associate Editor of BMC Public Health. He is currently the Vice President of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity and Vice President of the European Federation of Adapted Physical Activity and was on the managing council of the European Network of Young Specialists in Sport Psychology between 2011 and 2015. He is also a member of ISPAH and on the Research Committee of World ParaVolley.
