Biography
As a research fellow at Lero, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software, I apply machine learning techniques to recover and refactor architectural artifacts in large-scale codebases. With over 10 years of experience in software engineering and research, I have developed expertise in source code analysis, software clone detection, and evolutionary computation. My research aims to improve the quality, reliability, and security of software systems by identifying and eliminating code duplication, which can lead to errors, vulnerabilities, and maintenance issues. I also explore the use of evolutionary algorithms and large language models to generate synthetic data for training supervised learning models. In addition to my research, I am passionate about supporting initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion in STEM education and careers, such as the WiSTEM2D scholarship programme.
