Dr. Conor Carroll is the winner the 2010 National Award for Excellence in Teaching. NAIRTL (the National Academy for Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning) coordinate the national award process throughout the third level education sector, on an annual basis. Conor is a lecturer in marketing at the Kemmy Business School, is a twice winner of the University's Teaching Excellence award, and is a prolific case study writer, having written over 85 published marketing case studies, many of which are used extensively in leading European and International Universities such as Notre Dame, University of Hong Kong & National University of Singapore. He has won numerous accolades for his case study writing, winning awards at both national and international case study competitions.
Conor has teached extensively in China, France, Poland, Slovenia, Thailand & New Zealand.
These competitions included McGraw-Hill, Ernst & Young, Newstalk, Enterprise Ireland and The Case Association case writing awards. Furthermore, Conor has presented case study writing seminars at Harvard Business School. Conor is the winner of the 2004 and 2009 Teaching Excellence Award at the University of Limerick for his teaching activities within the University, and has won other international teaching awards. Conor has been nominated for the 2004, 2005, 2006, & 2007 UL Teaching Excellence Awards in Small, Medium and Large Class Size Categories. This is a unique accolade and shows his commitment to the UL learning environment Conor has been shortlisted for the inaugural regional teaching excellence award in higher education in 2008. Conor is also actively involved in local business networks and is a regional council member of Sales Institute of Ireland.
Doctoral research on the area of Food Scares and the Management of Food Safety Crises.
Research interests include crisis communications, selling and sales management, SME marketing, marketing cases, and retailing.
