I joined the academic staff as a lecturer below the bar on the new graduate-entry Masters programme, Human Nutrition and Dietetics at the School of Allied Health, Faculty of Education and Health Sciences, in the University of Limerick in August 2018.  I previously spent 15 years practicing as a Senior Community Dietitian with the Health Service Executive (HSE), and managing my own business where I developed skills in planning, implementing and supporting programmes to promote health and prevent nutrition related diseases in a range of clinical & community settings. I am an active member of the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute, which is the professional body for dietitians in Ireland and currently serve as a member on the Senior Management Team and was previously the Education & Professional Development Manager. My current interests include body image concerns, feeding difficulties, developing eLearning programmes for the profession of Dietitians and exploring competencies in nutrition among healthcare professionals.  While I am early in my career as a researcher, I have much to offer as an evidence-based practitioner.
