Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences have a number of generous merit-based international (Non-EU) scholarships available for the 2026/7 academic year. 

International (Non-EU) merit-based scholarship worth €2,000 per year ​

The scholarships are based on academic merit and are a reduction in tuition fees. Courses in the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance are included in this scholarship initiative.

Students do not apply for the scholarship, once they apply for any of the above programmes they will be automatically considered for scholarship. For further information, please contact the ulglobal@ul.ie.

UL Family Alumni Scholarship

This scholarship offers children of University of Limerick alumni living abroad the opportunity to study at UL with a 50% reduction in non‑EU tuition fees for selected undergraduate programmes within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS).  

Eligibility 

The scholarship is open to non-EU applicants who are the children of UL graduates. One of their parents must have completed a four‑year bachelor’s degree at UL in any discipline.  

Eligible applicants must be non‑EU fee-paying, undergraduate applicants to the following full‑time, on‑campus programmes in AHSS:  

The scholarship covers the full duration of their undergraduate programme.  

How to apply 

Applicants must apply as non-EU students and meet the standard academic entry requirements for their chosen programme.  

In addition to the documentation required for the academic assessment of their application, those wishing to apply for this scholarship should also include the following documentation:  

  • Their parent’s UL ID number
  • The applicant’s birth/adoption certificate
