UL’s official commercial photographer and framer is Michael Martin Photography. See the Professional Photographers section of the Information for Granduands webpage for details.

Please note that freelance photographers may be on campus on the days of conferring. Do not use any of the unofficial photographers who may be on campus. Each year, some graduates complain of non-delivery of photographs or of poor-quality work by these photographers.

The ceremony lasts between an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes.

When you arrive on UL Campus on the day of Conferring you should proceed directly to EG-010 to collect your academic robes from Phelan Conan. Students must then proceed to the Basement of the University Concert Hall to be lined up for their ceremony in order.

As this is a time consuming process, we require all students to be in the Basement well in advance of their Ceremony Start time (10:00am for Morning ceremony, 14:00pm for Afternoon Ceremony). If you arrive after this time you may be denied access to the Ceremony and will be conferred in Absentia.

If you cannot attend your conferring ceremony, you will be conferred in absentia.

PhD graduands are permitted to defer graduation once, and only until the following conferring session.

Unfortunately, non-PhD graduands cannot defer their graduation.

Have you paid all fees, cleared all debts to the University (including outstanding library fines) and returned all books to the library? You must do so by May to be eligible to graduate in June, by July to be able to graduate in August and by December to be able to graduate in January.
