How many guests may I bring?

Invitations to the Winter 2022 ceremonies are restricted to Graduands only.  In order to safely host the event, families or friends will not be permitted to attend the graduation ceremony on the day.

Please do not attend your graduation ceremony, under any circumstances, if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid 19

However, all our winter conferring ceremonies will be live-streamed so that families, friends and staff may view the relevant ceremony.  The link to watch the online ceremony is available at

What Vaccine proof am I required to provide?

Your HSE Vaccine Proof is required as confirmation and proof of vaccination. Alternatively you can present your EU Digital Covid Certificate.  You will also need to show photographic ID to confirm your certificate is accurate.  Acceptable types of photographic identity are:

  • Current driving licence;
  • Passport;
  • UL Student ID card; or
  • Garda age card.

If you are visiting from outside of Ireland and the EU, you may use the official vaccination record issued by the country where you were vaccinated for COVID-19, and also provide proof of your identification.

Will there be refreshments available after the ceremony?

Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide refreshments during the January 2022 conferring ceremonies. Government guidelines in relation to numbers attending and the short turnaround time between each ceremony for deep-cleaning mean that we cannot safely provide refreshments to graduates after their ceremonies.

We trust you can appreciate we are still in uncertain times and, as such, these in-person ceremonies are being planned with regard to the prevailing government and public health guidelines.
