Key information
- Complete part-time over one year
- Blended delivery – weekly online lectures and in a design studio
- Modules taught during autumn and spring semesters
- Approx. 12 weeks per semester
- Submit an optional Industry Learning project at the end of the semester
- Can be used to complete 30 credits towards MSc in Design for Health and Wellbeing, or Master of Professional Practice (MPP) or MSc Engineering Practice

Programme content
Core module
- Anatomy and Physiology (GM4002) provides an overview of core body systems and their changes across lifespan, the causes, risk factors and symptoms associated with different types of disease profiles and types of treatments.
Relevant course materials - such as books and journal articles - will be available digitally via the UL Glucksman Library’s online resources.

Core modules
- Concept Development and Evaluation (PD6022) introduces user-centred design tools and approaches that are central to the later stages of the design process; concept prototyping, testing and design refinement.
- Human Factors in Health System (PD6002) provides an understanding of the importance of Human Factors on product and systems design in health contexts. This module covers human factors standards IEC 62366 and HE 75.
- Industry Learning Project (IE2011) combines course material with the student’s talents to solve real-life industry projects, based on an 8 week industrial learning placement. (Optional)
