The Glucksman Library will remain open throughout the summer with extended opening hours until Friday 16th June - please consult the library website for details of opening hours when planning your visit.  If you wish to work collaboratively, the library offers a variety of rooms that students and staff/faculty can book in advance.

Academic resources for teaching in September

The library’s reading list service, Leganto, is fully embedded within Brightspace. Existing lists, from Semester 1 2022/23 have ‘rolled forward’ for the next academic year and edits can be made to these lists as required. If you are teaching a module in September that requires new library books, please notify us before the end of July so that the material can be ordered on time for the start of teaching.

Over the summer, the library is building a resource site for Brightspace that will include digital information literacy learning material for students.  You can embed this content in your own VLE site, or liaise with the library to have this content for your module.

Supporting Research over the summer

In addition to the library’s bookable spaces for group work, the library will run a Research Data and Digital Skills Summer School in June, details here and bookings will open on Monday May 22nd.

Students who need assistance with their thesis over the summer should in the first instance consult the library’s Guide to Thesis Preparation and if unsure about anything, contact the library on libinfo@ul.ie

Renewing & returning library material

UL students are reminded to return or renew material that is or will become overdue shortly, especially students intending to graduate in the summer.

Any graduating or non-returning students should return library material as soon as possible to the library - you may return books on a drop & go basis at the library entrance.  There are no fines on overdue books; however, you may not borrow books until you return overdue items.
