The Glucksman Library currently subscribes to many online newspapers for our students and staff to take advantage of for research, teaching resources, and leisure reading. In addition to historical newspapers for primary source research, the library has access to current Irish daily and weekly newspapers online. A valid University of Limerick login (@ul.ie) is needed to access these resources through our library website.

For primary sources, the ProQuest Historical Newspapers database has access to The Irish Times and The Weekly Irish Times from 1859-2021.

The Irish Newspaper Archive includes access to national titles such as: The Irish Independent, The Irish Examiner, The Sunday Independent; and regional papers such as the Limerick Leader and the Meath Chronicle.

The European Newsstream has access to over 460 regional and international titles including The Financial Times, The Guardian, El Mundo, Die Zeit, and Les Echos. Access to The Irish Times from 1995 until present day is also available under this subscription.

Nexis includes access to The New York Times, Die Zeit, Le Monde, and popular press such as Associated Press and Reuters.
