Digitary: online document service for students and graduates

UL uses Digitary, an online secure document platform to enable applicants, students and graduates to access certified and secure electronic documents (e.g. transcripts, parchments and official letters). It also will enable you to send links to others (e.g. employers) for secure verification.

Postgraduate Research Confirmation of Registration and Attendance

This letter (free of charge) confirms that a research student is registered and attending University of Limerick, and is only available to current Postgraduate research students.

Taught Confirmation of Registration and Attendance

This letter (free of charge) confirms that a taught Undergraduate and Postgraduate student is registered and attending University of Limerick, and is available to those who have completed module registration.

This letter can be used for SUSI, Social Welfare and Garda immigration applications.

Please note: Students applying for Back to Education and Springboard who are expected to go on Coop placement during the academic year will need to request a letter from Academic Registry.

Confirmation of Enrolment

This letter (free of charge) confirms a student is enroled on a course, and is available after a student completes enrolment, but have not yet completed module registeration for an upcoming semester (i.e. a student will either have an enrolment letter or a registration letter available to them).

Please note: This letter will not be accepted by SUSI or Department of Social Protection (Social Welfare). A Confirmation of Registration and Attendance must be used for this purpose.

Confirmation of Graduation

This letter (free of charge) confirms a student has graduated from a course in University of Limerick, and is only available to graduates after their conferring ceremony.

Please note: Students graduating from January 2022 will have this letter issued to them automatically 5 working days after their conferring ceremony.

Expecting to Graduate

This letter (free of charge) is available to final year students and confirms that a student is expecting to graduate at the end of the current academic year, subject to successful completion of all academic requirements.

Awaiting Graduation

This letter (free of charge) is available to final year students who have successfully completed their course, received their final results, and will graduate at the next conferring ceremony.

This letter will be accepted by immigration for Stamp 1G visa applications.

University Certificate of Study Confirmation of Completion

This certificate (free of charge) is issued to students who have completed a University Certificate of Study, within one month of completing their academic requirements.

This letter (free of charge) is issued to applicants from countries who require a visa to study in Ireland and issued upon payment of fees.

Official graduation documents

Certified Transcripts, Parchments and European Diploma Supplements (free of charge) are issued automatically to graduates (since 2019) 5 days after your conferring ceremony.

New Graduates Your documents will be issued on Digitary and a link sent to your "home email address". Please ensure that your "home email address" is updated on the Student Portal.

Parchments which are not available via Digitary:
Only parchments for graduates of the University of Limerick are available via Digitary. Unfortunately it is not possible to issue digital parchments for joint awards (e.g. where UL and another institution award the final parchment). Examples include:

  • Garda College awards
  • Global Minds awards
  • Joint PHD awards
  • Joint TUS awards 
  • Mature Student Access Certificate

Issued automatically to graduates (since 2019), 5 days after your conferring.

For 2005 or later graduates, who do not have access to Digitary, you can request Digitary access through the Graduates & Alumni section of our Contact Us page.

Certified Student Transcript

After each release of results, you will receive an email detailing how to access the transcript. There continues to be a 10 charge. Once paid for, you will have unlimited access to your Certified Transcript, which will be updated each semester with any new results, until graduation.

Please note: You can still access standard Transcripts free of charge via Student Portal (SI). Certified Transcripts are only usually required for employers or other Higher Education Institutions that specifically request these.

If you have issues registering:
If you received the email, and have followed the registration instructions, but you are unable to register, please contact us, including screenshots of the error messages, or notices that you may be receiving, as well as your name, ID number and date of birth, and the course (and year) from which you graduated (if applicable).

If you have followed the instructions in the email you received, and you have registered using the same email address to which you received the invite to register, and cannot see your documents, please contact us for assistance. Please include your name, ID number and date of birth, and the course (and year) from which you graduated (if applicable).

If you have access to your documents on Digitary, through the original email to which the documents where shared, then you can add additional accounts/email accounts.

If you haven’t received the email from Digitary, please contact us. Please include your name, ID number and date of birth, and the course (and year) from which you graduated (if applicable).

  • From the documents page, which will be visible after login, click on the Share button next to the document you wish to share.
  • You can choose to have Digitary CORE send an email to a person, specify for how long they can access the document, require them to have a PIN to access the document, or simply copy/paste the share link into a personal email that you yourself send to the recipient.
  • You can also send your document to a registered organisation on the Digitary CORE network. If the organisation to which you want to send your document does not appear in the share dropdown menu, check with the organisation how they want to receive certified documents.

If you have forgotten your Digitary password:

  • If you have registered with Digitary, click “Can’t sign in?”and complete the online form that will then forward password reset instructions to your registered email account. If you have linked your account to your Social Media account you will have to reset password on that service.

 

To change your Digitary password:
Click the dropdown menu by your name, choose Profile Settings > Change email password.
