The aim of the employability modules is to give students an understanding and practical application of the key factors required to improve their employability post graduation. The modules give students the tools to explore their underlying preferences relating to their working style and career choice.  This knowledge can help determine what roles and opportunities would be best suited to their skills, values and motivations.

The modules examine what employers look for when hiring and introduce students to the importance of creating a strong CV, Cover Letter and Application. Students develop the practical experience of planning for and participating in the various selection procedures used by employers through participation in a variety of Assessment Centre activities including psychometric tests, aptitude tests, presentations and group discussions.

Students learn how to maximise their use of social media when creating an online presence and how to use social media when researching the job market and identifying potential career paths. In addition to engaging in Assessment Centre activities in semester one, students will examine what employers look for throughout the interview process and gain practical experience of preparing for, participating in and receiving feedback from a one-to-one interview with a panel of graduate employers.
