Philippa Wilkes is a post-doctoral researcher in Statistics and Data Analytics with MACSI in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Limerick, and in collaboration with the SSPC.

Her research interests lie in the use of data science with the rich data produced within the pharmaceutical industry, with focus on using functional data analysis to model process and spectroscopic data.

Philippa holds a BSc in Chemistry and a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from University College Dublin (UCD). Progressing into the pharmaceutical industry, she worked for over 8 years with multinational companies including MSD and Schering-Plough. Her roles were diverse within manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), from R&D roles for new product introduction through to technical support of large-scale commercial products. In 2015 she took an extended career break, during which she completed a HDip in Data Analytics from the National College of Ireland and in 2020 a MSc in Data Science from the Institute of Technology Carlow.

Research Interests: Data science, data analytics, statistical modelling, functional data analysis, high-dimensional data,
pharmaceutical data analysis.
