Student email and Microsoft 365 Apps

Every registered student has an active student email account. All correspondence relating to your modules, your student record etc takes place via this email account. This is a hosted email service (Microsoft Office 365) provided by University of Limerick in collaboration with Microsoft.

Please ensure you are familiar with the University of Limerick Acceptable Usage Policy and  University of Limerick IT Security Policy. To enhance security, ITD have disabled both IMAP and POP. Auto forwarding from UL accounts is also disabled.

How can I access my email account & Microsoft 365 apps online?

Open a web browser and go to outlook.office365.com and log in using your UL email address (<student number>@studentmail.ul.ie) and your computer account password.

Click on the application you want to use.

How do I access email on a mobile device?

ITD recommend that you use the Outlook mail app for accessing your student email on your mobile device. Click here for instruction on how to access email on your mobile device.

How can I access my email account on a device in an ITD managed computer lab?

Open a web browser and go to outlook.office365.com and login using your UL email address (<student number>@studentmail.ul.ie) and your computer account password, or alternatively click on the “My Mail" link in portal (default student web at log on).

How do I use my email account and Microsoft 365 Apps?

How long do I have access to my UL student email?

The expiry date on your student account is linked to the end date on your student record. For more information visit our Digital User Account Management section on our website.
