William Nolan

Learning Technologist - Assistive Technology

William has an undergraduate degree in Computer Games Development and a Master's in Technical Communication & E-Learning. He works to provide advice and support to students, through various forms of assistive technology (AT). William meets with students to discuss what options may help them with their studies and, where necessary, provides training and ongoing support throughout a student's time in UL.

William has been visually impaired since birth. As a result, he is very passionate about AT - having had to rely on it in his own life. He loves testing new pieces of hardware and software, evaluating how these may be useful for different people's needs. He is also interested in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and how UDL can be implemented to make education more accessible for all students, not just those with disabilities.
