This is the main staff event to mark the fiftieth anniversary year, offering an opportunity to reflect on the last fifty years and what the next decades might hold for UL.
50Voices/50Years is a year long project to capture the range of experience and insights in the UL community. Staff, students, alumni, researchers, industry partners - everyone has a unique take on what makes UL special!
UL Past, Present, Future - A Focus on Sustainability
Our fiftieth anniversary year marks the establishment of the university in 1972 as the National Institute of Higher Education. Half a century later, UL will return to its roots of being a pioneer, an entrepreneur, disruptor and contributor to the establishment of regenerative approaches across the whole of the organisation, the sector and society. This video signposts our vision.

Aonad na Gaeilge, the Irish Language Centre, recently celebrated 21 years on campus. To celebrate this milestone, RIAN, a series of twenty-one videos, was launched. The series celebrates innovation and impact in teaching and learning, language support, research, and community engagement at Aonad na Gaeilge, University of Limerick over the 21-year period 2001-2022. The series also shows the growing support for the Irish language at the Institution in the latter part of UL FIFTY (1972-2022).
