Sustainable University Strategy 2022-2030

University of Limerick is currently developing an ambitious Sustainable University Strategy 2030, which is aligned with the ambitions of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). Tasked with its development the UL SDG Working Group in collaboration with the UL Executive Committee are working to roll out ambitious Sustainability Strategy at UL. The strategy is being collectively shaped by diverse stakeholders within UL and the region. The strategy is being designed to be mission-driven and align with the work Mariana Mazzucato, (Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value at the University College, London) around the ‘Mission Economy’.

UL have identified four key thematic areas around which the strategy is being shaped. Each thematic area has a lead who is responsible for helping shape and facilitate inputs. These thematic areas are important as they ensure a holistic approach and systemic engagement. The strategy design and development work will be completed by the end of January 2022 and launched campus-wide thereafter.

Strategic Thematic Areas

  1. Learning, Research and Students.
  2. Leadership, Governance and Staff.
  3. Partnership, Community and Engagement.
  4. Campus Community and Operations.
