Are you a graduate with ambitions to qualify as a Speech and Language Therapist? The Graduate entry MSc in Speech and Language Therapy (Professional Qualification) at UL is a two-year, full-time accelerated programme. It is designed for graduates from any discipline who want to transition into a career in speech and language therapy.
This intensive programme combines academic study with clinical placements to prepare you for professional practice in diverse settings.
Approved by CORU and accredited by the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists, the programme equips you with the skills to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan.
With a strong focus on leadership, collaboration, and innovation, you will master clinical reasoning, therapeutic interventions, and person-centred care. while applying evidence-based approaches to speech and language therapy.
The MSc Speech and Language Therapy at UL was established in 2003 as Ireland’s first graduate entry route into Speech and Language Therapy.
During this programme, you will
- Develop the skills to assess, diagnose, treat and manage people with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Participate in supervised placements, building confidence in assessment and therapeutic planning. Collaborate with other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary teamwork environment
- Develop and maintain an evidence-based approach to clinical practice; delivering person-centred care and supporting client self-determination.
- Graduate with a CORU-approved professional qualification and become eligible to apply to register with the Speech & Language Therapy Registration Board.
