UL’s programme in participatory health research aims to enhance your existing research capabilities by involving patients, carers and other members of the public in your research.
The one-year, part-time Professional Diploma equips you with the competencies and skills to employ participatory processes and undertake high quality participatory health research (PHR).
Learn how to actively engage with patients, carers, health care professionals, charities, community organisations and other members of the public through all stages of the research process to create action and change that benefits the wider community.
During this programme, you will
- Gain an introduction to participatory health research as it applies to public and patient involvement in research.
- Explore participatory health research concepts and the theories and evidence that support them.
- Design a participatory project, building partnerships with community and PPI contributors and codesigning research in a meaningful collaboration.
- Explore the principles and practice of public and patient involvement research and practice key skills and tools with experts in the field.
