The Master of Science in Nursing (Older Person) programme is designed to provide registered nurses with the opportunity to enhance skills, knowledge, attributes and competencies for a role within gerontological care.

The programme explores philosophical underpinnings of older person nursing, evidence based best practices, assessment, therapeutic interventions, management and person-centred care for the older person.

During this programme, you will

• Explore and analyse best practice in the care of the older person nursing
• Review current innovations and developments in leading and managing change in practice to promote and advance person-centred care for older people
• Demonstrate an understanding of assessment and specific therapeutic interventions in the care of the older person
• Undertake 500 hours of supervised clinical practice, applying learning in practice settings and developing specialist older person nursing care competencies under expert guidance
