The Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) is a two-year, full-time Level 9 professional degree programme. It is an intensive and dynamic course that prepares you for a wide range of professional activities in landscape architecture.
Based in the School of Architecture and Product Design, the programme places the Design Studio at the core of your learning. The University of Limerick’s location on the River Shannon offers access to diverse landscapes from Limerick city and its estuary to the Atlantic coast and rural hinterlands. These varied environments serve as your living laboratory, equipping you to work with complex ecological systems and respond to environmental change.
The MLA has a local, national, and international outlook, with projects and research spanning global contexts. Faculty members bring expertise from Ireland and abroad. The programme is designed to meet accreditation standards set by the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) and works closely with the Irish Landscape Institute (ILI).
