Progress your career and acquire valuable skills in Lean and Six Sigma management with UL’s two-year, part-time Master of Science (MSc) Lean Sigma Manager Apprenticeship programme. 

The programme provides deep knowledge of the theories, methods and improvement techniques based around the philosophy of operational excellence, lean thinking and six sigma. It places a strong focus on applying these concepts directly within the workplace. 

Developed with the Irish Centre for Business Excellence and run in conjunction with our industry partners, this innovative programme is Ireland's first apprenticeship at master’s level.  

Designed for professionals driving organisational improvement through quality management, Lean Six Sigma, and emerging technologies, who seek advanced expertise and recognition as a Master Black Belt. 

During this programme, you will

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the theory and practical application of quality management tools and techniques.
  • Explore how to apply Lean and Six Sigma methods in your organisation to enhance delivery and increase efficiency.
  • Interact and engage in peer-to-peer learning activities through the Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Apply the concepts you have learned to your own organisation through directed project work.
  • Complete both lean and Six Sigma projects to black belt level.
  • Deliver an Enterprise Improvement Project at master black belt level.
