UL’s Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Physics is aimed at physical science and engineering graduates seeking career opportunities in the high technology sector of industry. 

The programme aims to increase their understanding of applied physics, the physical principles underlying material properties, and the operation of processes and equipment for the research and high technology sectors. 

It is delivered by researchers at the cutting edge of next generation technologies with an outstanding track-record in producing scientific publications, and intellectual property. 

Researchers are members of the Bernal Institute at UL, one of the leading research institutes in Ireland, and have a tradition of experimental development, calibration and validation. 

During this programme, you will

  • Choose from a wide range of specialist topics and access the unique state-of-the-art facilities of the Bernal Institute such as the FEI Titan Transmission Electron Microscope, Non-linear Optics Lab and Nanophotonics Lab.
