Are you ready to take your midwifery career to the next level?
UL’s Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice (Midwifery) is a two-year part-time programme designed for experienced registered midwives who want to expand their clinical expertise, leadership skills and scope of practice.
This blended learning programme combines academic modules with supervised clinical practice modules. The programme prepares you for advanced health assessments, prescribing, and decision-making in multidisciplinary teams.
On successful completion, you will be eligible to apply to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) for registration as an Advanced Midwife Practitioner (RAMP) and Registered Midwife Prescriber (RMP).
During this programme, you will
- Develop advanced clinical decision-making skills needed to enhance care and improve outcomes for women and their babies.
- Complete specialist modules in Leadership, Quality and Governance, designed to evolve your practice and prepare you for senior roles in midwifery.
- Grow as an innovative, woman-centred practitioner, learning to assess and manage care in partnership with women and their families.
- Understand the value of multidisciplinary collaboration, and how it contributes to the provision of high-quality, evidence-based care.
