Core modules

• Corporate Sustainability (SG6121) is an introduction to the key concepts and tools of Corporate Sustainability, with a basic grounding in responsibility and business ethics.
• Risk Modelling and Derivative Markets (IN6131) provides a thorough grounding in the qualitative principles and quantitative methodologies for modelling financial risk.
• Advanced Taxation I (TX6141) aims to instil the competence to apply advanced aspects of Irish Income Tax, Corporation Tax and VAT rules.
• Auditing, Assurance and Governance (AC6151) helps to develop and understand the significance of audit evidence, audit procedures and audit planning.
• Advanced Financial Reporting (AC6161) focuses on preparing financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and relevant legislation.

• Strategic Financial Performance and Management Accounting (AC6112) delivers valuable management techniques and tools to augment awareness of professional ethical responsibilities.
• Advanced Financial Reporting II (AC6122) develops the ability to prepare company accounts at an individual and group level, including subsidiaries, associates and joint arrangements.
• Advanced Taxation II (TX6132) builds on prior knowledge of Irish capital taxes by addressing more advanced technical issues in the domains of Irish Capital Gains Tax, Capital Acquisitions Tax and Stamp duty.
• Advanced Auditing and Assurance (AC6152) provides the in-depth knowledge and appreciation required to arrive at appropriate conclusions on completion of the audit.
• Data Science for Risk Management (IN6172) delivers technical skills and theoretical knowledge to develop risk management analytics within an organisation using AI and Data Science.

Option 1:  

• Research Methods in Business (AC6033) develops the skills and knowledge to complete a post-graduate level research project.
• Research Dissertation in Business (AC6043) enables students to develop and demonstrate independent research and critical thinking skills.

Or  

Option 2:  

• Digital Futures Lab (MI6103) uses a design approach to address complex organisational and societal problems through mapping, analysis and creative thinking.
• Business Analytics Simulation (MI6303) provides an interactive, self-directed, experiential learning experience to develop skill sets in strategic decision making.
