The Department delivers around 50 economics modules across a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, and executive programmes.  

Faculty in the Department are outstanding teachers. We are proud that a number of our faculty have been recipients of various university and national teaching awards. 

Undergraduate programmes We jointly offer LM124, the BSc Economics & Mathematical Science. Economics is a popular choice on the common entry Bachelor of Arts programmes. Economics can be taken on both LM002, Bachelor of Arts and LM019 Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences.  

We offer a major option in economics for students on the Bachelor of Business Studies Degrees (BBS) and the Bachelor of Arts in International Business, Bachelor of Arts in International Business. We also offer minor options in Globalisation - An Economic Perspective, and Quantitative Analysis for Business.

Postgraduate programmes At the postgraduate level, the Department offers a Masters (by research) and PhD programme and two popular taught Master’s Degree Programmes, the M.Sc. in Economics and Policy Analysis and the Master of Arts in International Tourism as well as a New Postgraduate Diploma in Economics and Public Policy
