MACSI Assembles – collaborations using mathematics and statistics
Forming successful research partnerships can involve navigating different research philosophies, different terminologies, and even different time zones. Researchers from University of Limerick’s Mathematical Applications Consortium for Science and Industry (MACSI) research centre have extensive experience of addressing these issues when collaborating with researchers from other disciplines. In this event, researchers, including a number of ERC awardees and their international collaborators, discussed case studies in battery technology, psychology, imaging, metals processing and medicines from space, while exploring what makes a successful interdisciplinary collaboration from initiation to output.
Inclusive Society - Brighter Futures
A thought-provoking symposium hosted by the School of Allied Health, featuring international collaborations and celebrating one of UL’s strategic research themes - Inclusive Society which focused on the transformative impact of earlylife intervention. The earliest stages of development shape lifelong health, wellbeing, and opportunity. Evidence consistently shows that timely, targeted support in childhood reduces future health inequalities, improves cognitive and psychosocial outcomes, and strengthens long term societal wellbeing. Investing in children is, ultimately, investing in a healthier, more sustainable future for all. Professor Sue Bazyk, Cleveland State University, USA gave the keynote address.
