Welcome to UL Research Week 2026
I'm delighted to welcome you to Research Week 2026, a platform that allows our researchers to showcase the diverse nature of their world-leading research to the wider UL community and the public.
This week-long series of events running 27 April to 1 May shines a spotlight on the important research taking place across our university.
We have 29 events running across the week, from research on sustainability, ageing, physical activity and cancer to dance, accounting and economics for social good and how music can shape protest - the range of research is inspiring.
At UL we are constantly pushing the boundaries, creating new discoveries, and it is all for the greater good. The impact that our research can have on society can never be underestimated. Our researchers are working to help make our country, and our world, a more sustainable place, more inclusive and healthier, and all while striving to use smart technology for the betterment of all.
Research Week is open to all, so consider inviting your external collaborators to attend some of the sessions, to see the range of excellent research taking place in UL.
Research Week is underpinned by our research strategy Wisdom for Action, whose mission is to build a vibrant community where research excellence is valued, supported and central to all facets of our organisation.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

Research Week is as much about networking and collaborations as it is about the research being presented.
By fostering a culture of collegiality who knows what new collaborations might be established which will help forge the next phase of research innovation and discovery.
