Special Issue in Sport, Education and Society
Sustainable Development and Physical Education: Critical Perspectives on Motor, Social, and Ecological Transformations
The Special Issue aims to bring together critical, sociological and pedagogical perspectives on how sustainable development is interpreted, negotiated and enacted through Physical Education across diverse educational, cultural and political contexts.
There is special interest in contributions that explore Physical Education not only as a space for promoting health and movement, but also as a potentially transformative educational setting for addressing ecological consciousness, social justice, inclusion, participation, embodied learning and systemic change.
Timeline:
Abstract submission deadline: 7 July 2026
Abstract decisions: 3 August 2026
Full manuscript submission deadline: 21 December 2026
Feedback and revision: 15 March 2027
Expected online publication: August 2027
Prospective authors are invited to submit an abstract of up to 500 words to both Guest Editors:

Final manuscripts will have a maximum length of 8,500 words, including references, and all submissions will undergo blind peer review by at least two referees.
